CS Shell Jacket - Richmond Depot #1 Jean Wool with Hand Stitching - TAPE TRIM Hand Stitched

The Richmond Depot Type #1 was issued late in 1861 or the beginning of 1862, was used through mid 1863, and is referred to as an "Early War" Coat. Distinguishing features of Type #1 are Epaulettes, Belt Loops and Branch of Service colored TAPE Trim around the Collar, the Epaulettes, the Belt Loops, and the Inverted "V" Design on the Cuff.

The CS Richmond Depot Shell Jacket features HAND STITCHED Front, Hem, Sleeve Hem, Collar, and Button Holes. The TAPE Trim is also HAND STITCHED. It has a 6 piece body, 2 piece sleeves, and 9 Button Front of CSA buttons. The bottom of the jacket front is square cut. The back hem of the jacket is straight across. The jacket is lined with cotton lining and has an inside pocket. This shell jacket is available in Gray or Brown Jean Wool.

Richmond Depot Shell Jackets are often called Army of Northern Virginia Style as well.
