This Bullseye Canteen with Blue & White Stripe Pillow Ticking Cover is made of Stainless Steel but has a "tin-like" look. The cover is Hand-Stitched on the canteen. The canteen is 7.5 inches in diameter. Complete with cork & chain and linen sling.
While not a standard military issue canteen cover, this cotton cover may have been used by Militias or civilians. It is also possible that it may have been used by soldiers in the field who were seeking to repair a canteen cover or to replace a lost one.

Note: This stainless steel canteen has a "tin-like" look, but doesn't rust like tin.
