| Issued in 1874 to slide onto the Cavalry saber belt or NCO belt to hold an added 20 rounds. A soldier was issued two of these for an additional 40 rounds. The rest of the ammunition was carried in the Dyer cartridge box. Made for 45/70 rifle or carbine during the Indian Wars. It is made of high quality leather. This is a version of a privet purchase detachable cartridge carriers and have 20 loops for .45 caliber rifle or carbine cartridges. Also called “Hazen Loop”.
