The body and the sleeves are lined in unbleached muslin. There is one inside pocket. The collar trim has double rows of tape. The collar and epaulettes of the jacket are trimmed in tape.

This shell jacket was used by Dragoons from 1833 through 1850 including the Mexican War. Dragoons were the mounted service before 1846. Dragoons were re-designated "Cavalry" in 1861. This jacket is trimmed in Dragoon orange.

This shell jacket is made from 20 oz Federal (Navy) blue wool, is lined with muslin, and has with an inside pocket. The jacket has a 12 button front of US Eagle, 5/8" buttons. The jacket has 2 button functional cuffs and 2 buttons on each side of the standing collar and saber belt bolsters (pillows) on the back.  The collar trim has double rows of tape. The collar, sleeve, front edge, bottom, back seams, and bolsters of the jacket are trimmed 3/8" tape.

The bolsters were set at the bottom of the rear/side seams and were designed to 'bolster' the weight of a saber belt which carried the pistol and saber of a mounted soldier. The mounted services jackets are typically longer than most other Civil War shell jackets as the belt needed ride above the bolsters.

The M1841 US Officer Frock Coat is made of 16 oz. Navy Blue Wool. The Coat is Single Breasted with a 9 Button Front of silver Federal Eagle Buttons. The Functional Cuff is closed with 3 small silver Federal Eagle buttons. All Button Holes are HAND STITCHED. There is a 4 Button Pattern on the back of the split skirt and the folds of the skirt conceal additional pockets. The Frock Coat is fully lined in Black Cotton and there is an inside breast pocket. A Padded and Quilted Chest is an option for this Frock Coat.

This frock was worn by all officers, excluding Generals, until 1846 when the US Army Uniform Regulations were changed.

The M1833 US Spurs were the standard issue spurs for Dragoon and horse artillery during the Mexican War.  They were also used in the Civil war by enlisted soldiers and officers. 

The spurs are made of cast brass with steel rowels. The shank comes off of the top of the strap and extends straight back to the rowel.

Standard over the shoulder regulation sling for the 1840s NCO or Musicians sword.  Comes with US Eagle baldric plate attached. Adjustable length by virtue of holes behind the plate. This sling is the reason for the belt loops behind all regulation US Cartridge Boxes. As an NCO would not be wearing two different slings at the same time, the appropriate setup would be for him to wear the cartridge box on the waist belt while wearing the baldric.  White was the main color for this time, but black is available.

1832-approx. 1834 Shako Hat Ornament.  We have been told it was a Light Infantry, as well Light Artillery, Shako made of stamped brass and has two wire loops on the back for attaching to the hat. It measures approximately 2 1/4 inches high and 3 1/4 inches wide.  This Federal Eagle has been seen on Martingale of officer saddles and officer saddle bags and may have been used in the early years of the Civil War.  Available in Brass or silver plated.

1834 cross Artillery Canons Hat Ornament.  was adopted by the US Army in 1834 and was used throughout the Mexican War and later, until a slightly modified design was adopted in 1851.  However, many of the old professional Regular-Army artillerymen, veterans who'd previously served in Mexico, and a number of pre-war militia artillery units that served in the early days of the Civil War still wore this old style. Size 3 1/2" Wide x 2" High.

1839 Springfield Scabbard.

Brass mounted leather scabbard with integrated frog for .58 caliber Springfield Rifle bayonet. Excellent replica of the originals with great attention to details. The length is approximately 17". Belt loop will be white leather and body will be black leather.

This wood canteen is constructed of 2 wooden sides separated by thin wooden slats. Tin straps wrap the edges.  Galvanized tin straps along the edge hold the linen canteen sling. The canteen has a wood spout and is lined with a stainless steel liner. A wood stopper plugs the spout. All canteens are water-tested by manufacturer. 

The canteen measures approximately 8" in diameter and 3 1/4" deep.

The 1840 non commissioned sword was carried by American soldiers for over 70 years; a period which included the Mexican War, Civil War and Spanish American War.

This 1840 Non Commissioned Sword is a fine reproduction sword, is a faithful copy of the originals used and is collector grade. The single edged blade has a single broad fuller running from the ricasso to near the point. The entire hilt is cast brass and the grip is ribbed. Pommel is global with a capstan. Grip is flanked by kidney-shaped hand guards. NCO sword comes with a steel scabbard. The blade is unsharpened and the scabbard is made for a NCO style belt.  Will not attach to a standard saber belt.

The blade is 31 3/4 inches long.

This American made Dragoon Revolver Pistol Holster is made of high quality American leather. It is designed to fit the Dragoon Revolver. The holster features full wrap around flap that is both stitched and riveted. The closed flap is secured with a brass finial. The belt loop is stitched and riveted. The holster has a closed bottom. Available in Black or Russet leather.

The holster is worn on the right side, with the gun butt forward: RIGHT Side, Butt Forward. Left handed models - LEFT Side, Butt Forward - are also available. Left side holsters were less common as they were not standard issue.
